Friday, January 15 – guest radio interview at WDDE, Delaware’s NPR station, to discuss the Delaware Division of the Art’s Fellowship program and other topics. The weekly spot called “The Green” (3:00 p.m. Fridays, 2:00 p.m. Sundays) is a radio magazine to discuss events, ideas, and issues important to Delaware listeners. The interview can be heard here.

Friday, January 15 – Create a Vision Board for 2106 workshop at Newark Arts Alliance. Under the guidance of Delaware artist Carol Mauer, this Girls Night Out series present a unique opportunity to gather with women, create art, and enjoy wine, cheese, and conversation…a grown-up playgroup for women ages 21 and over.

Delaware Fun A Day – “Fun-A-Day is a community-centric art project and show that happens in cities all over the country each year – including Delaware! Participants choose a project and produce one piece of artwork every day for an entire month. The resulting pieces create a narrative outlining each artist’s journey throughout the month.”

November 14 (Saturday) – An Evening With Smart Rhino Publications. Readings and book signings by Smart Rhino Publications authors. Hockessin Book Shelf, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. I’ll be reading an excerpt from “The Chances” as published in Someone Wicked.


October 21 (Wednesday) – Guest at Sisters in Crime Guppy Online Q&A – I’ll be answering questions at the Guppies online list serve for 2 hours, 1:00-3:00 p.m. EST.

October 19 (Monday) – NaNo Prep Workshop at Havre de Grace Public Library in Havre de Grace, Maryland.  This workshop will help prepare writers for a month of intense daily writing. Free, but registration is required here.


October 18 (Sunday) – Teen Writing Workshop with Delaware Poet Laureate JoAnn Balingit and author/editor Ramona DeFelice Long, for students interested in participating in the 2016 Delaware Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program. Dover Public Library, 2:00-4:00 p.m. This program is free, but call Katy Goff at the Dover Library  (302) 736-7030 to register.

September 27 (Sunday) – Just Write Writers Conference, Bel Air Branch of the Harford County Library,  Bel Air, MD. One day writing conference including workshops, panels, and manuscript critiques.

September 6- 20  – Master  Class in Story Arcs. This online course will be offered through Sisters in Crime Guppy Chapter.

June 17 (Wednesday) – Guest interview at the Writers Who Kill blog’s continuing Welcome Wednesday series. I will discuss working with an editor, the process of putting together a story anthology, and a bit about my own writing.

July 1 – 31 (all month)Written Remains Writers Guild Summer Writing Challenge.

July 13 (Monday)Grant Writing for Authors – A FREE workshop sponsored by the Newark Arts Alliance to assist authors in writing the various parts necessary in grant and fellowship applications. Included will be writing author bios, project descriptions, and artist statements. TIME: 7:00-9:00 p.m.   LOCATION: 276 East Main Street, Newark    FEE: None, but registration is required. July 27 – Guest post at the Insecure Writers Support Group blog on the Sprint Method of Writing.

August 9 – 23 – Necessary Parts – Online course for writers working on query letters, story summaries, and synopses. This course is sponsored by and open to members of Sisters in Crime’s New England chapter.

September 6- 20  – Master  Class in Story Arcs. This online course will be offered through Sisters in Crime Guppy Chapter.


~Winter, 2015~

January 24 (Saturday) — Workshop on Plotting and Structuring a Novel, sponsored by The Eastern Shore Writers Association (ESWA) from 9:00 a.m. – Noon in Seaford, Delaware at the Holiday Inn Express. The workshop will focus on the classic Three Act Structure. The workshop is $30 for ESWA members and $40 for non-members. Contact to register or if you have any questions. There is limited attendance so please register early.

February 8-22 – Online workshop on Writing Strong Scenes, sponsored by Sisters in Crime New England Chapter.

February 21 – Talk on working with an independent editor for the Delaware Valley Chapter of Sisters in Crime.

March 28 – Writers Project Runway, a 1-day writers conference sponsored by Pennwriters, Area 7. Leesburg, VA.

May 15-17 – Pennwriters Conference, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Info to come.
